Don't place a blue pin when double clicking/tapping
I often double click to zoom in on the map, but in addition to zooming in there is a blue pin marking the location when it is not needed.
Done in version 57 (to be published).
When you click / tap on the map, you now have a nice ripple animation and the marker comes with a bounce animation. The blue marker is not added/moved anymore with double clicking/tapping

I haven't figured out how to remove a blue pin. I single click, double click and the pin just moves. Nice bounce but I'd like to remove it. Please help.

Wow, sounds perfect! I was actually thinking of some sort of animation, but didn't want to suggest something too complicated. Nice work and I can't wait to see it!

It actually reminded me of a video I watched about the redisign of Google Maps. What they do is that they wait for the 300ms but they add a "ripple" effect on click so that you have an immediate response. See this bit:
http://youtu.be/HrLyZ24UcRE?t=20m46sI am going to try something like that, Google can't be so wrong :)

Interesting, I always assumed the computer detected a double-click. I personally think a .3 second delay on the pin appearing would be better than having it appear and then disappear when zooming.
Also, if it appears briefly would that mean it would move from a previous position (if there was one)? Or would it appear briefly and then return to the previous place when the second click is detected?

What I mean is no blue pin at all when you double click. Just zoom in. If you want a pin, you should single click after you have zoomed in. If you already have blue pin at another position, it should stay where it is and not be affected by the double click. Then if you single click it would move to the new spot.

Thanks for that suggestion, do you think the blue pin should be removed or just kept at the previous position?
Thanks,
