Make the map remain in direction of travel like a car navigator
[Received via email]
Hello everyone who voted for this feature request,
This is now by far the most requested feature for Maps Pro and I am glad to announce that it is available now!
The update (version 120) has been accepted in the Windows Store and should be available to everyone
To enable map rotation you will need to tap a second time on the button in the bottom-right corner that locks on your position.
So one press = lock on your position, second press = lock on your position + rotation.
Another press (or move the map) and the maps can be moved freely.
If you experience any issues with this new feature, please email tickets@mapspro.uservoice.com
Thanks again for your patience and your feedback!

Yes, looking forward to having a 'heads-up' driving display when following routes.

Yes, This is what I thought would have came standard with the GPS software. It would be nice to see it implemented.

An always moving "Up" would be an excellent function, even if the names/coordinates were normalized north.
(Assemble the PNG files into a image (it's own layer), and rotate that layer based on the bearing feed.)

The map rotation and import routes from several destinations from the computer, and search for GPS coordinates , then this program will be "Almost Completely Perfect ".
And in any case , thank you very much for your dedication and hard work .

Hello Marcel and thanks for your comment,
Yes, the vector maps will allow me to have map rotation (maybe perspective even), this is definately on my roadmap.
I'll have a look at how housenumbers can be displayed, it will be very handy
Thanks,

As you are now using OSM Maps for offline navigation this feature seems to be feasible.
I think you've already used some stuff (for map rendering) from OSMAnd and I would really love to see something similar in terms of navigation like in the mentioned app.
By the way it would also be great if there would be a button to display house numbers in the offline mode

I would also really really wan this feature. There is no other navigation software for windows RT with this feature so everybody with an RT version will buy this!!!!! I know i would..

I would really love to see this feature. I am looking at this app as a full replacement for Microsoft Streets and Trips. I am not concerned with the text and labels being sideways or upside down. It is more critical to me to see the "what's ahead" view. I can read text (reasonably well) upside down or sideways.

No votes left but it would be a nice feature

Hi,
At the moment, I am working on full offline mode for address search, POI and routing and it might open up some possibilities for map rendering, but later on

Are you still trying to do it or is it too time consuming?

Unfortunately, this feature is not available yet as there are some very technical challenges to solve when rotating a map. For instance, if you display google maps images, the labels won't be rotated properly and you won't be able to read the road names properly.
