Use OpenStreetMaps for Points of Interest instead of Google Places
Google data is terribly inaccurate. I only want OSM.

Added an option in the app settings to choose OSM as a source for POIs.
Will be available with version 56, in the next few days

While implementing this suggestion, I am getting really mixed results about the quality of the OSM data.
Here are the museums in Geneva, Switzerland using OSM data:

Many museums are missing, including the natural history museum. Don't even have an address for most results
And here is the same map, using Google Places:

I believe that must be most of them, and you get nice metadatas such as phone numbers, websites ...Anyway, you can now choose which one you prefer in the next udpdate!
