Choosing Maps Pro as default maps app
You can't choose Maps Pro as default app for maps and addresses in Windows settings (PC Settings -> Search and apps -> Default apps). Why not?

Version 47 has been approved and should be available as an update in the next hours. Windows 8 usually update apps in the background but you might need to restart your machine.
Settings Maps Pro actually does not happen in PC Settings -> Search and apps -> Default apps directly, see those instructions for more details:

Version 47 of Maps Pro has been submitted to the Microsoft Store for approval.
It should hopefully be available for everyone soon -
Hello again,
I implemented the various ways that other applications can communicate with a Default Map application (center on a point, center on an address, center on a contact, routing between 2 points, ... specifications here http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/windows/apps/jj635237.aspx)
Here is what it looks like from the People App:

Hello and thanks for adding this suggestion!
Maps Pro is not in the list because it is not (yet) associated with the "bingmaps" protocol. Looks pretty straightforward, will add it in the next update !
